Who we are
S&K Group Holdings Ltd (company number 16703925), Unit 1 Hems Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG, is the data controller for this website and for enquiries made through it. S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd (company number 16932889), the S&K Group company that trades as Security Shutters UK, receives your enquiry and is the controller for quotes, contracts and job records if you go ahead. The two companies share the same address and contact details.

You do not have to give us your details, but we cannot quote, survey or arrange work without a way to contact you and the location of the job.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with:
- S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, which handles enquiries, quotes and jobs for Security Shutters UK
- Engineers working for S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd under contract, when they need your details to survey or carry out your job
- Web3Forms, which delivers form submissions to our inbox
- Tawk.to, which provides live chat, if you use it
- Google, which provides analytics, if you accept analytics cookies
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there
- Netlify, which hosts this website, and our email providers
- Professional advisers, insurers and authorities where the law requires it
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Chat transcripts are kept for up to 24 months. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Customer and job records are kept for 7 years after the job, for warranty, insurance and tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it to be transferred. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, for example by changing your cookie settings. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would like the chance to put things right first.
