Who you contract with
Security Shutters UK is a trading name of S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16932889, registered office Unit 1 Hems Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG. Your contract is with this company.
Guide prices and quotes
Prices on this website and from the quote tool are guide prices, excluding VAT. They are not offers. After a survey we give you a written quote setting out the product, specification, price and any deposit. A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
Planning and permissions
We tell you if we think planning permission, listed building consent or landlord consent may be needed, but obtaining them is your responsibility unless your quote says we will handle the application. We will not order an external shutter until you confirm you are ready to proceed.
Orders, deposits and payment
Shutters are made to measure. Your quote states any deposit due on order and when the balance is payable. Goods remain our property until paid for in full.
Your right to cancel (consumers)
Made-to-measure shutters, grilles and doors are made to your specification, so the statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 does not apply to them. As a goodwill policy, you can still cancel without charge until we place the order with the manufacturer.
For repairs, servicing and other work that is not made to your specification, if the contract is made away from our premises or at a distance you have 14 days from the date of the contract to cancel. If you ask us to start within that period and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point, and once the work is complete the right to cancel ends. Your quote pack includes the cancellation information and a model cancellation form.
Changes to the price
Your written price covers the agreed specification. If you ask for changes, or a hidden problem is found during the work, such as a weak lintel or no usable power supply, we explain it, price it and agree it with you before carrying on.
Warranties
Products carry the manufacturer's warranty, set out in your quote. This does not affect your statutory rights. Warranties may not cover damage, misuse or lack of servicing where the manufacturer requires it.
Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Complaints and law
Contact us first at info@securityshuttersuk.co.uk. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
