What to know about aluminium roller shutters in Downpatrick

Aluminium curtains roll up tighter than steel, so the shutter box can often be smaller. Perforated aluminium laths are available for frontages where the display needs to stay visible.

Aluminium does not rust, so it suits coastal towns and exposed frontages. Foam-filled laths reduce noise and add a little insulation compared with single-skin metal.

Features to choose from

  • Manual or electric operation
  • Lighter curtain for less wear on motors and springs
  • No rust, suited to coastal and exposed sites
  • Powder coated to a RAL colour
  • Smaller shutter box than steel
  • Quieter running than steel

Before you book in Downpatrick

Do you cover Downpatrick?

Yes. We survey, fit and repair aluminium roller shutters in Downpatrick and the BT30 district, as part of our coverage across County Down.

Do aluminium shutters corrode by the sea?

Aluminium does not rust like steel, and a powder-coated finish adds protection, which makes it a good choice for coastal frontages.

What is the difference between roll-formed and extruded aluminium?

Roll-formed laths are two thin skins with a foam core, which is light and insulating. Extruded laths are solid profiles, which are heavier and much stronger.

Will an aluminium shutter dent?

Foam-filled laths can dent under a heavy impact. Extruded aluminium resists denting far better, and damaged laths can be replaced individually.

Can I get a quote from photos?

Photos and approximate sizes let us give you a guide price quickly. A survey is still needed before a shutter is made, because it is built to exact measurements.

Do you work with landlords and managing agents?

Yes. We quote, fit and service shutters for landlords, managing agents and facilities teams, including multi-site planned maintenance.
