Choosing fire shutter servicing & drop tests for premises in Leamington Spa
Counter-height and kitchen fire shutters need the same testing as large shutters. Manufacturers and industry guidance typically call for testing at least once a year, and more often for busy or critical shutters.
A shutter that sticks, closes too fast or stops short can leave an opening unprotected in a fire. Each visit is recorded with a certificate-style report for your fire safety log book.
Specification options
- Curtain, guide and bottom rail inspection
- Written report for your fire log book
- Coordination with your alarm contractor
- Full drop test under fire signal or release
- Closing speed and governor checks
- Counter, hatch and large fire shutters

Rules in England
Fire safety law and fire shutters
In England fire shutters form part of a building's fire precautions under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The responsible person must keep them maintained in efficient working order and good repair, which in practice means regular drop testing with written records.
