Garage roller doors in Shirley (Solihull): the essentials

Domestic garage doors are covered by the same powered door safety standard as commercial doors. Up-and-over doors can usually be replaced with a roller door without changing the opening.

Features to choose from

  • Manual override for power cuts
  • Safety edge and obstacle detection
  • Replaces up-and-over doors
  • Fitted behind, in or on the face of the opening
  • Remote fobs, wall switch and app options

Questions about garage roller doors in Shirley (Solihull)

Do you cover Shirley (Solihull)?

Yes. We survey, fit and repair garage roller doors in Shirley (Solihull) and the B90 district, as part of our coverage across West Midlands.

Are roller garage doors insulated?

Most are, with foam-filled aluminium laths. They are not as thermally efficient as a wall, but they make a real difference to a garage used as a workspace.

How much headroom does a roller garage door need?

The box needs some space above the opening inside or outside the garage. Exact clearance depends on the door height and curtain, so we measure it at survey.

What safety features do garage roller doors have?

Electric doors should stop and reverse on contact, using a safety edge or obstacle detection, and have a manual override for power cuts.

Will you take away my old shutter?

Yes. Removal and disposal of an old shutter is included when we quote for a replacement.

Can you fit outside trading hours?

Yes, out-of-hours fitting can be arranged for shops and businesses that cannot close during the day.
