Choosing high-speed doors for premises in Wallington

High-speed doors open and close much faster than roller shutters, so the opening spends less time open. Food, pharmaceutical and cold-store sites use them to keep zones separate.

High-speed doors are often fitted inside an insulated roller shutter, which provides security out of hours. Insulated and cold-store versions are available for temperature-controlled areas.

Options we can specify

  • Fast-acting PVC fabric curtain
  • Self-repairing curtain on many models
  • Light curtain safety protection
  • Radar, loop, pull-cord and push-button activation
  • Internal, external and cold-store versions
  • High daily cycle rating

Rules in England

Safety of powered shutters

Powered doors and shutters are treated as machinery. The installer commissions them with a risk assessment, safety devices where the risk calls for them and force checks to BS EN 12453, then hands over a declaration of conformity and maintenance instructions. In workplaces, the employer or whoever controls the premises must keep doors maintained and safe for staff and visitors.

Before you book in Wallington

Do you cover Wallington?

Yes. Wallington (SM6) is within our Greater London coverage, along with nearby Carshalton, Sutton and South Croydon.

Do high-speed doors save energy?

They reduce the time an opening stands open, which cuts heat loss and draughts on busy doors.

What happens if a forklift hits the curtain?

On many models the curtain pops out of its guides and re-feeds itself on the next cycle, which avoids the damage a steel shutter would suffer.

How fast do they open?

High-speed doors open in a few seconds, much faster than a roller shutter. The exact speed depends on the model and size.

Can I get a quote from photos?

Photos and approximate sizes let us give you a guide price quickly. A survey is still needed before a shutter is made, because it is built to exact measurements.

Do you repair shutters fitted by other companies?

Yes. We repair and service most makes of roller shutter, grille and industrial door, whoever fitted them.
