High-speed doors in Newcastle-under-Lyme: the essentials
Insulated and cold-store versions are available for temperature-controlled areas. They are designed for very high numbers of cycles a day, which a standard roller shutter is not.
Vision strips in the curtain let drivers and pedestrians see what is on the other side. Light curtains in the frame stop the curtain closing if anything is in the opening.
Features to choose from
- Vision strips for safe traffic flow
- Fast-acting PVC fabric curtain
- Self-repairing curtain on many models
- Light curtain safety protection
- Pairs with a roller shutter for security
- High daily cycle rating

High-speed doors: common questions
Do you cover Newcastle-under-Lyme?
Yes. Newcastle-under-Lyme (ST5) is within our Staffordshire coverage, along with nearby Longton, Kidsgrove and Crewe.
What happens if a forklift hits the curtain?
On many models the curtain pops out of its guides and re-feeds itself on the next cycle, which avoids the damage a steel shutter would suffer.
How fast do they open?
High-speed doors open in a few seconds, much faster than a roller shutter. The exact speed depends on the model and size.
Do high-speed doors save energy?
They reduce the time an opening stands open, which cuts heat loss and draughts on busy doors.
Are your prices fixed?
Yes. After the survey you get a written price for the agreed specification, confirmed before anything is ordered or any work starts. If you change the specification, or a hidden problem such as a weak lintel is found during fitting, we price it and agree it with you before carrying on.
Do you repair shutters fitted by other companies?
Yes. We repair and service most makes of roller shutter, grille and industrial door, whoever fitted them.
