Home security shutters in Truro: the essentials
Domestic shutters use slim double-skin aluminium laths filled with foam, which keeps them light and quiet. Patio and bi-fold doors can be covered by a single wide shutter, protecting the largest area of glass.
Colours are chosen to match the window frames, with anthracite grey and white the most common choices. The box can sit on the face of the wall, inside the window reveal, or be built in during an extension or new build.
Options we can specify
- Blackout and added insulation when closed
- Face-fixed, reveal-fixed or built-in boxes
- Patio and bi-fold door shutters
- Quiet operation suited to bedrooms

Rules in England

Before you book in Truro
Do you cover Truro?
Yes. We survey, fit and repair home security shutters in Truro and the TR1 district, as part of our coverage across Cornwall.
Can shutters be added to an existing window?
Yes. Most domestic shutters are retrofitted with a box on the face of the wall or in the reveal, so the window does not need to be replaced.
Do home shutters help with heating bills?
Closed shutters add an insulating layer over the glass and reduce draughts, which helps keep heat in at night. The effect depends on the windows you already have.
How noisy are electric home shutters?
Domestic tube motors are quiet, and foam-filled laths reduce rattle, so shutters can be used in bedrooms without disturbing anyone.
Is the survey free?
Yes, for new shutters, grilles and doors: the survey and written quote are free and there is no obligation to go ahead. Repair and servicing visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we visit.
Do you repair shutters fitted by other companies?
Yes. We repair and service most makes of roller shutter, grille and industrial door, whoever fitted them.
