Choosing LPS 1175 high-security shutters for premises in Caernarfon

Rated shutters are used on pharmacies, jewellers, phone shops, plant rooms and critical infrastructure. Other test standards such as STS 202 and BS EN 1627 are also used, and we can source products to the one you need.

Older Issue 7 ratings ran from SR1 to SR8; roughly, SR1 corresponds to A1, SR2 to B3 and SR3 to C5. Where the structure around the opening is weak, it may need strengthening for the rating to mean anything in practice.

Options we can specify

  • Reinforced guides, curtain and locking
  • Certificate reference provided with your quote
  • Electric operation with override
  • Products certified to LPS 1175 Issue 8
  • Ratings from A1 upwards to suit the risk
  • Structural fixing checked at survey

Safety of powered shutters

Powered doors and shutters are treated as machinery. The installer commissions them with a risk assessment, safety devices where the risk calls for them and force checks to BS EN 12453, then hands over a declaration of conformity and maintenance instructions. In workplaces, the employer or whoever controls the premises must keep doors maintained and safe for staff and visitors.

  3. Written fixed price

Do you cover Caernarfon?

Yes. Send the postcode and we will arrange a survey in Caernarfon. We also cover nearby Holyhead.

What does an LPS 1175 rating like B3 mean?

The two systems are different, but as a rough guide SR1 corresponds to A1, SR2 to B3 and SR3 to C5. Your insurer's wording tells you which version they require.

Who carries out the work?

Work is carried out by experienced shutter engineers working for S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, which is the company your contract is with.

What details help you quote quickly?

The postcode, the approximate width and height of the opening, whether you want manual or electric operation, and a photo of the frontage.
