Roller grilles in Forfar: the essentials
Brick-bond, tubular and link patterns give different levels of visibility and strength. Roller grilles roll into a box like a shutter, and can be manual or electric.
A clear-anodised or powder-coated finish keeps a grille looking smart. Wide grilles use intermediate posts or a stronger curtain to resist being pushed in.
Options we can specify
- Solid kick panel option
- Optional polycarbonate infill

Rules in Scotland
Safety of powered shutters
Powered doors and shutters are treated as machinery. The installer commissions them with a risk assessment, safety devices where the risk calls for them and force checks to BS EN 12453, then hands over a declaration of conformity and maintenance instructions. In workplaces, the employer or whoever controls the premises must keep doors maintained and safe for staff and visitors.

Your questions answered
Do you cover Forfar?
Yes. We survey, fit and repair roller grilles in Forfar and the DD8 district, as part of our coverage across Dundee & Angus.
Is a roller grille or a perforated shutter better?
A grille gives far more visibility and airflow, while a perforated shutter gives more privacy and weather protection. Shopping centres often specify grilles; high streets use both.
Do roller grilles need planning permission?
External roller grilles usually need planning permission like other external security. Councils often find them more acceptable than solid shutters.
Can a grille cover a very wide unit?
Yes, with a stronger curtain or removable intermediate posts to keep it rigid.
What warranty do I get?
Products carry the manufacturer's warranty, and the warranty for your shutter is set out in your quote.
How long does it take from order to fitting?
Shutters are made to measure after the survey, so the lead time depends on the product, colour and any security rating. We confirm it in your quote.
