Roller grilles in Braintree

Looking for roller grilles in Braintree? We survey the opening, price it in writing and fit it, with nothing ordered until you approve the quote.

In Braintree, roller grilles typically cost £1,295 to £5,995 ex VAT (£1,554 to £7,194 inc VAT) for the common sizes. The width of the opening matters more than the height, and electric operation adds to the price.

How roller grilles work, and what to ask for

Polycarbonate infill panels can be added to stop items being passed through the lattice. Councils often see roller grilles as more acceptable than solid shutters in town centres.

A clear-anodised or powder-coated finish keeps a grille looking smart. Shopping centres often require roller grilles rather than solid shutters on unit fronts.

  • Aluminium or steel curtains
  • Removable intermediate posts for wide units

Rules in England

Safety of powered shutters

Powered doors and shutters are treated as machinery. The installer commissions them with a risk assessment, safety devices where the risk calls for them and force checks to BS EN 12453, then hands over a declaration of conformity and maintenance instructions. In workplaces, the employer or whoever controls the premises must keep doors maintained and safe for staff and visitors.

Questions about roller grilles in Braintree

Do you cover Braintree?

Yes. We survey, fit and repair roller grilles in Braintree and the CM7 district, as part of our coverage across Essex.

Can things be passed through a grille?

Small items can pass through an open lattice. Polycarbonate infill panels close the gaps if that is a concern.

Can a grille cover a very wide unit?

Yes, with a stronger curtain or removable intermediate posts to keep it rigid.

Is a roller grille or a perforated shutter better?

A grille gives far more visibility and airflow, while a perforated shutter gives more privacy and weather protection. Shopping centres often specify grilles; high streets use both.

Can I get a quote from photos?

Photos and approximate sizes let us give you a guide price quickly. A survey is still needed before a shutter is made, because it is built to exact measurements.

Do you work with landlords and managing agents?

Yes. We quote, fit and service shutters for landlords, managing agents and facilities teams, including multi-site planned maintenance.
