Choosing security roller shutters for premises in Droitwich
Aluminium laths keep the curtain light and quiet, while galvanised steel adds weight and resistance for higher-risk premises. Where an insurer or police adviser asks for a tested product, rated shutters certified to LPS 1175 are available.
Perforated or punched laths let light and window displays show through while the shutter is down. A powder-coated finish in a RAL colour lets the shutter match a shopfront or cladding instead of standing out in bare metal.
Options we can specify
- LPS 1175 rated options for higher-risk premises
- Solid, perforated, punched or vision laths
- Manual push-up, hand-crank or electric operation
- Powder coating to a RAL colour of your choice
- Key switch, remote control or timer operation
- Safety edge or photocells where the risk assessment calls for them

Rules in England
Electrical work
Electric shutters are wired to BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations. In homes in England, new circuits are notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, so the work is done by a registered electrician who can self-certify it, or notified to building control.

Before you book in Droitwich
Do you cover Droitwich?
Yes. Send the postcode and we will arrange a survey in Droitwich. We also cover nearby Bromsgrove, Stourport-on-Severn and Redditch.
How long does a roller shutter take to fit?
Most single shopfront shutters are fitted in a day once they have been made. Wider frontages, steel-framed openings or new power supplies can add time, and we confirm the installation day with your quote.
Can a roller shutter be fitted inside the shop?
Yes. Internal shutters sit behind the glazing, which protects the stock and usually avoids external planning issues, although the glass itself is left exposed.
Do electric shutters still work in a power cut?
Electric shutters are fitted with a manual override, usually a hand crank or a release, so the shutter can be opened or closed without power.
Who carries out the work?
Work is carried out by experienced shutter engineers working for S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, which is the company your contract is with.
Is the survey free?
Yes, for new shutters, grilles and doors: the survey and written quote are free and there is no obligation to go ahead. Repair and servicing visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we visit.
