Choosing shutter servicing & maintenance for premises in Herefordshire

Each visit ends with a written report listing what was checked and anything that needs attention. Multi-site and multi-shutter contracts can be scheduled together so every door is covered. Safety edges and photocells are tested so the shutter stops and reverses as it should.

Small issues like worn bearings or loose fixings are cheaper to fix early than after a breakdown. Busy commercial and industrial doors usually need servicing more often than a shop shutter used twice a day.

Features to choose from

  • Multi-shutter and multi-site contracts
  • Written report after every visit
  • Fixing and bracket checks
  • Cleaning and lubrication of guides and bearings
  • Full mechanical inspection
  • Motor, limit and control checks

Rules in England

Safety of powered shutters

Powered doors and shutters are treated as machinery. The installer commissions them with a risk assessment, safety devices where the risk calls for them and force checks to BS EN 12453, then hands over a declaration of conformity and maintenance instructions. In workplaces, the employer or whoever controls the premises must keep doors maintained and safe for staff and visitors.

How it works

  1. Describe the fault

Tell us what the shutter is doing, the make if you know it, and send a photo or video.

  2. Engineer visit

An engineer inspects the shutter, finds the cause and makes it safe.

  3. Fixed repair price

You get the repair price before parts are fitted; simple fixes are often done on the first visit.

  4. Tested and reported

Limits and safety devices are checked, and you get a note of what was done.

Before you book in Herefordshire

Can you service shutters across several sites?

Yes, we can schedule planned maintenance across multiple sites with one report format.

What is checked on a service?

The curtain, guides, barrel, springs, motor, limits, controls, locks and safety devices, followed by a written report.

Is servicing a legal requirement?

In workplaces, the employer or person in control of the premises must keep powered doors maintained in efficient working order and safe for staff and the public. Regular servicing with a record is the practical way to show that.

Can I get a quote from photos?

Photos and approximate sizes let us give you a guide price quickly. A survey is still needed before a shutter is made, because it is built to exact measurements.

Will you take away my old shutter?

Yes. Removal and disposal of an old shutter is included when we quote for a replacement.
