Choosing shutter servicing & maintenance for premises in Sutton in Ashfield

Workplace regulations require the employer or person in control of the premises to keep doors and gates, including powered shutters, maintained in efficient working order. Busy commercial and industrial doors usually need servicing more often than a shop shutter used twice a day.

Safety edges and photocells are tested so the shutter stops and reverses as it should. A service record helps show insurers and inspectors that the shutter is looked after.

Where we work around Sutton in Ashfield

Sutton in Ashfield sits in Nottinghamshire, roughly 13 miles from Nottingham. Whether the job is in the NG17 district or nearby Kirkby in Ashfield, Mansfield and Alfreton, the survey and quote work the same way.

Rules in England

Safety of powered shutters

Powered doors and shutters are treated as machinery. The installer commissions them with a risk assessment, safety devices where the risk calls for them and force checks to BS EN 12453, then hands over a declaration of conformity and maintenance instructions. In workplaces, the employer or whoever controls the premises must keep doors maintained and safe for staff and visitors.

How it works

  1. Describe the fault

Tell us what the shutter is doing, the make if you know it, and send a photo or video.

  2. Engineer visit

An engineer inspects the shutter, finds the cause and makes it safe.

  3. Fixed repair price

You get the repair price before parts are fitted; simple fixes are often done on the first visit.

  4. Tested and reported

Limits and safety devices are checked, and you get a note of what was done.

Your questions answered

Do you cover Sutton in Ashfield?

Yes. Send the postcode and we will arrange a survey in Sutton in Ashfield. We also cover nearby Kirkby in Ashfield, Mansfield and Alfreton.

What is checked on a service?

The curtain, guides, barrel, springs, motor, limits, controls, locks and safety devices, followed by a written report.

Can you service shutters across several sites?

Yes, we can schedule planned maintenance across multiple sites with one report format.

How often should a roller shutter be serviced?

Most shop shutters benefit from a yearly service, and busy commercial or industrial doors usually need two or more visits a year. The manufacturer's instructions and your risk assessment set the frequency.

What details help you quote quickly?

The postcode, the approximate width and height of the opening, whether you want manual or electric operation, and a photo of the frontage.

How long does it take from order to fitting?

Shutters are made to measure after the survey, so the lead time depends on the product, colour and any security rating. We confirm it in your quote.
