How garage roller doors work, and what to ask for
Roller doors open straight up, so cars can park close to the door and nothing swings into the driveway. A manual override lets you open the door from inside in a power cut.
Roller doors can be fitted behind the opening, in the opening or on the face, depending on the space above. Remote fobs are standard on most electric garage doors, with wall switches and app control as options.
What's included
- Single and double garage widths
- Insulated foam-filled aluminium laths
- Remote fobs, wall switch and app options
- Colour and woodgrain finishes
- Manual override for power cuts
- Safety edge and obstacle detection

Rules in England
Electrical work
Electric shutters are wired to BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations. In homes in England, new circuits are notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, so the work is done by a registered electrician who can self-certify it, or notified to building control.

Before you book in Kenilworth
Do you cover Kenilworth?
Yes. Kenilworth (CV8) is within our Warwickshire coverage, along with nearby Warwick, Coventry and Leamington Spa.
What safety features do garage roller doors have?
Electric doors should stop and reverse on contact, using a safety edge or obstacle detection, and have a manual override for power cuts.
Are roller garage doors insulated?
Most are, with foam-filled aluminium laths. They are not as thermally efficient as a wall, but they make a real difference to a garage used as a workspace.
Can a roller door replace my up-and-over door?
Yes, usually without changing the opening. We check the headroom and side space at survey to choose the right fixing position.
What warranty do I get?
Products carry the manufacturer's warranty, and the warranty for your shutter is set out in your quote.
Do you work with landlords and managing agents?
Yes. We quote, fit and service shutters for landlords, managing agents and facilities teams, including multi-site planned maintenance.
