High-speed doors in Scarborough

We supply, fit and look after high-speed doors in Scarborough and nearby Bridlington, from a single opening to a whole site.

In Scarborough, high-speed doors typically cost £4,495 to £15,995 ex VAT (£5,394 to £19,194 inc VAT) for the common sizes. The width of the opening matters more than the height, and electric operation adds to the price.

What to know about high-speed doors in Scarborough

Radar, induction loops and pull cords open the door automatically as traffic approaches. High-speed doors open and close much faster than roller shutters, so the opening spends less time open.

High-speed doors are often fitted inside an insulated roller shutter, which provides security out of hours. The fabric curtain can be pushed out of its guides by an impact and re-inserted automatically on many models, reducing damage.

Options we can specify

  • Self-repairing curtain on many models
  • High daily cycle rating
  • Fast-acting PVC fabric curtain
  • Radar, loop, pull-cord and push-button activation
  • Light curtain safety protection
  • Internal, external and cold-store versions

Rules in England

Electrical work

Electric shutters are wired to BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations. In homes in England, new circuits are notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, so the work is done by a registered electrician who can self-certify it, or notified to building control.

Before you book in Scarborough

Do you cover Scarborough?

Yes. Send the postcode and we will arrange a survey in Scarborough. We also cover nearby Bridlington.

Do high-speed doors save energy?

They reduce the time an opening stands open, which cuts heat loss and draughts on busy doors.

What happens if a forklift hits the curtain?

On many models the curtain pops out of its guides and re-feeds itself on the next cycle, which avoids the damage a steel shutter would suffer.

Is a high-speed door secure?

Not on its own. The fabric curtain is for traffic and environmental control, so it is often paired with a roller shutter that closes out of hours.

What details help you quote quickly?

The postcode, the approximate width and height of the opening, whether you want manual or electric operation, and a photo of the frontage.

How long does it take from order to fitting?

Shutters are made to measure after the survey, so the lead time depends on the product, colour and any security rating. We confirm it in your quote.
