High-speed doors in Bridlington: the essentials

Vision strips in the curtain let drivers and pedestrians see what is on the other side. High-speed doors open and close much faster than roller shutters, so the opening spends less time open.

The fabric curtain can be pushed out of its guides by an impact and re-inserted automatically on many models, reducing damage. Light curtains in the frame stop the curtain closing if anything is in the opening.

Options we can specify

  • Pairs with a roller shutter for security
  • Light curtain safety protection
  • Radar, loop, pull-cord and push-button activation
  • Internal, external and cold-store versions
  • Fast-acting PVC fabric curtain
  • High daily cycle rating

Where we work around Bridlington

Jobs in Bridlington are planned as part of our East Riding of Yorkshire coverage, and visits can be combined with jobs in nearby Scarborough and Beverley. Planning rules are those of your local council in England.

Rules in England

Electrical work

Electric shutters are wired to BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations. In homes in England, new circuits are notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, so the work is done by a registered electrician who can self-certify it, or notified to building control.

How it works

  1. Send the details

Give us the postcode, approximate width and height, and what the shutter is protecting.

  2. We survey the opening

An engineer measures and checks the fixings, power and any planning constraints.

  3. You approve a fixed price

The quote lists the specification and price in writing, so there are no surprises.

  4. We fit and commission

Your shutter is installed, tested and handed over with instructions and paperwork.

High-speed doors: common questions

Do you cover Bridlington?

Yes. Bridlington (YO16) is within our East Riding of Yorkshire coverage, along with nearby Scarborough and Beverley.

What happens if a forklift hits the curtain?

On many models the curtain pops out of its guides and re-feeds itself on the next cycle, which avoids the damage a steel shutter would suffer.

How fast do they open?

High-speed doors open in a few seconds, much faster than a roller shutter. The exact speed depends on the model and size.

Is a high-speed door secure?

Not on its own. The fabric curtain is for traffic and environmental control, so it is often paired with a roller shutter that closes out of hours.

How long does it take from order to fitting?

Shutters are made to measure after the survey, so the lead time depends on the product, colour and any security rating. We confirm it in your quote.

What warranty do I get?

Products carry the manufacturer's warranty, and the warranty for your shutter is set out in your quote.
