Home security shutters in Evesham: the essentials

The box can sit on the face of the wall, inside the window reveal, or be built in during an extension or new build. Fire escape routes matter: shutters on escape windows need an easy manual override or battery backup so they can be opened quickly.

Domestic shutters use slim double-skin aluminium laths filled with foam, which keeps them light and quiet. Colours are chosen to match the window frames, with anthracite grey and white the most common choices.

Specification options

  • Wall switch, remote, timer or app control
  • Manual override or battery backup on escape windows
  • Blackout and added insulation when closed

Rules in England

Electrical work

Electric shutters are wired to BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations. In homes in England, new circuits are notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, so the work is done by a registered electrician who can self-certify it, or notified to building control.

How it works

  1. Send the details

Give us the postcode, approximate width and height, and what the shutter is protecting.

  2. We survey the opening

An engineer measures and checks the fixings, power and any planning constraints.

  3. You approve a fixed price

The quote lists the specification and price in writing, so there are no surprises.

  4. We fit and commission

Your shutter is installed, tested and handed over with instructions and paperwork.

Before you book in Evesham

Do you cover Evesham?

Yes. We survey, fit and repair home security shutters in Evesham and the WR11 district, as part of our coverage across Worcestershire.

Do home shutters help with heating bills?

Closed shutters add an insulating layer over the glass and reduce draughts, which helps keep heat in at night. The effect depends on the windows you already have.

How noisy are electric home shutters?

Domestic tube motors are quiet, and foam-filled laths reduce rattle, so shutters can be used in bedrooms without disturbing anyone.

Will shutters stop me escaping in a fire?

They must not. Shutters on bedroom or escape windows are fitted with a manual override or battery backup so they can be opened quickly, and we discuss escape routes at survey.

Is the survey free?

Yes, for new shutters, grilles and doors: the survey and written quote are free and there is no obligation to go ahead. Repair and servicing visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we visit.

Do you repair shutters fitted by other companies?

Yes. We repair and service most makes of roller shutter, grille and industrial door, whoever fitted them.
