Industrial roller shutter doors in Sevenoaks: the essentials

Direct-drive motors mounted on the end plate are typical on large doors because they handle heavy curtains and frequent cycles. Safety edges, photocells and light curtains protect people and forklifts passing under the door.

Three-phase motors are common on larger doors, and the electrical supply is checked at survey. Wind locks and deep guides stop wide curtains bowing out of their guides in strong winds.

What's included

  • Wind locks and deep guide rails
  • Direct-drive and chain motors for heavy use

Industrial roller shutter doors: common questions

Do you cover Sevenoaks?

Yes. Send the postcode and we will arrange a survey in Sevenoaks. We also cover nearby Tonbridge, Swanley and Tunbridge Wells.

What safety devices are required?

It depends on the risk assessment. Doors that close automatically or where people and vehicles pass usually need a safety edge, photocells or a light curtain, and force testing on commissioning.

Can you fit a door with a pedestrian door in it?

Yes. Wicket doors can be built into many industrial shutters, although they need interlocks so the curtain cannot move while the wicket is open.

How often should an industrial door be serviced?

Busy doors are usually serviced at least once or twice a year, and more often where they cycle many times a day. The manufacturer's instructions and your risk assessment set the frequency.

Can you fit outside trading hours?

Yes, out-of-hours fitting can be arranged for shops and businesses that cannot close during the day.

Who carries out the work?

Work is carried out by experienced shutter engineers working for S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, which is the company your contract is with.
