Roller grilles in St Neots: the essentials

Councils often see roller grilles as more acceptable than solid shutters in town centres. Aluminium grilles are lighter and suit large unit fronts; steel grilles add strength.

Shopping centres often require roller grilles rather than solid shutters on unit fronts. An open curtain lets air and light through, so displays stay on view and the unit does not look closed down.

Options we can specify

  • Removable intermediate posts for wide units
  • Optional polycarbonate infill
  • Brick-bond, tubular or link lattice
  • Anodised or powder-coated finishes
  • Suited to shopping centre unit fronts
  • Aluminium or steel curtains

Rules in England

Safety of powered shutters

Powered doors and shutters are treated as machinery. The installer commissions them with a risk assessment, safety devices where the risk calls for them and force checks to BS EN 12453, then hands over a declaration of conformity and maintenance instructions. In workplaces, the employer or whoever controls the premises must keep doors maintained and safe for staff and visitors.

How it works

  1. Send the details

Give us the postcode, approximate width and height, and what the shutter is protecting.

  2. We survey the opening

  3. You approve a fixed price

The quote lists the specification and price in writing, so there are no surprises.

Before you book in St Neots

Do you cover St Neots?

Yes. We survey, fit and repair roller grilles in St Neots and the PE19 district, as part of our coverage across Cambridgeshire.

Can a grille cover a very wide unit?

Yes, with a stronger curtain or removable intermediate posts to keep it rigid.

Can things be passed through a grille?

Small items can pass through an open lattice. Polycarbonate infill panels close the gaps if that is a concern.

Is a roller grille or a perforated shutter better?

A grille gives far more visibility and airflow, while a perforated shutter gives more privacy and weather protection. Shopping centres often specify grilles; high streets use both.

What warranty do I get?

Products carry the manufacturer's warranty, and the warranty for your shutter is set out in your quote.

Do you work with landlords and managing agents?

Yes. We quote, fit and service shutters for landlords, managing agents and facilities teams, including multi-site planned maintenance.
