Steel roller shutters in Crowborough: the essentials

Steel resists cutting and impact better than foam-filled aluminium, which suits higher-risk premises. Steel is the common choice for garages, lock-ups, plant rooms and loading bays.

Steel curtains are heavier, so they are paired with stronger motors, springs or crank gearboxes. Industrial steel doors can include a wicket door so people can enter without raising the whole curtain.

What's included

  • Galvanised steel laths, single or double-skin
  • Bottom-rail locks and anti-lift
  • Wicket doors on industrial doors
  • Manual, crank or electric operation
  • Deep guide rails and wind locks for wide openings
  • Powder coating available over galvanising

Questions about steel roller shutters in Crowborough

Do you cover Crowborough?

Yes. We survey, fit and repair steel roller shutters in Crowborough and the TN6 district, as part of our coverage across East Sussex.

Will a steel shutter rust?

Galvanising protects the steel, and powder coating adds a further layer. Scratches and damage should be touched up so moisture cannot reach bare metal.

Is steel more secure than aluminium?

Generally yes. Steel laths are harder to cut and dent, which is why steel is used for industrial and higher-risk premises. For independently tested resistance, look for an LPS 1175 rating.

Can a steel shutter have a door in it?

Yes, industrial steel shutters can include a wicket door so people can enter without raising the whole curtain.

Do you repair shutters fitted by other companies?

Yes. We repair and service most makes of roller shutter, grille and industrial door, whoever fitted them.

Can I get a quote from photos?

Photos and approximate sizes let us give you a guide price quickly. A survey is still needed before a shutter is made, because it is built to exact measurements.
