What to know about garage roller doors in Bicester

A manual override lets you open the door from inside in a power cut. Colours are chosen to match front doors and windows, with anthracite, white and woodgrain finishes common.

Roller doors open straight up, so cars can park close to the door and nothing swings into the driveway. The box needs a little headroom inside the garage, which is checked at survey.

Features to choose from

  • Manual override for power cuts
  • Colour and woodgrain finishes
  • Safety edge and obstacle detection
  • Fitted behind, in or on the face of the opening
  • Remote fobs, wall switch and app options
  • Replaces up-and-over doors

Bicester sits in Oxfordshire, roughly 11 miles from Oxford. Whether the job is in the OX26 district or nearby Banbury, Aylesbury and Witney, the survey and quote work the same way.

Rules in England

Safety of powered shutters

Powered doors and shutters are treated as machinery. The installer commissions them with a risk assessment, safety devices where the risk calls for them and force checks to BS EN 12453, then hands over a declaration of conformity and maintenance instructions. In workplaces, the employer or whoever controls the premises must keep doors maintained and safe for staff and visitors.

How it works

  1. Send the details

Give us the postcode, approximate width and height, and what the shutter is protecting.

  2. We survey the opening

An engineer measures and checks the fixings, power and any planning constraints.

  3. You approve a fixed price

The quote lists the specification and price in writing, so there are no surprises.

  4. We fit and commission

Your shutter is installed, tested and handed over with instructions and paperwork.

Questions about garage roller doors in Bicester

Do you cover Bicester?

Yes. We survey, fit and repair garage roller doors in Bicester and the OX26 district, as part of our coverage across Oxfordshire.

How much headroom does a roller garage door need?

The box needs some space above the opening inside or outside the garage. Exact clearance depends on the door height and curtain, so we measure it at survey.

Can a roller door replace my up-and-over door?

Yes, usually without changing the opening. We check the headroom and side space at survey to choose the right fixing position.

What safety features do garage roller doors have?

Electric doors should stop and reverse on contact, using a safety edge or obstacle detection, and have a manual override for power cuts.

What details help you quote quickly?

The postcode, the approximate width and height of the opening, whether you want manual or electric operation, and a photo of the frontage.

Do your guide prices include VAT?

Guide prices are shown both excluding VAT and including VAT at the standard rate of 20%. For a home, the price including VAT is what you pay.
