How roller shutter installation works, and what to ask for

Access equipment, road or pavement licences and out-of-hours fitting are arranged where needed. The shutter is made to the survey measurements, so it fits the opening rather than being adapted on site.

Guides and box are fixed into suitable structure; weak brickwork or timber is reinforced or bridged first. Electric shutters are connected by a qualified electrician and commissioned with limits and safety checks.

What's included

  • Out-of-hours fitting on request
  • Survey of opening, structure and power
  • Made-to-measure manufacture
  • Planning checks before ordering
  • Electrical connection and commissioning
  • Handover pack and keys

Rules in England

Electrical work

Electric shutters are wired to BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations. In homes in England, new circuits are notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, so the work is done by a registered electrician who can self-certify it, or notified to building control.

How it works

  1. Send the details

Give us the postcode, approximate width and height, and what the shutter is protecting.

  2. We survey the opening

An engineer measures and checks the fixings, power and any planning constraints.

  3. You approve a fixed price

The quote lists the specification and price in writing, so there are no surprises.

  4. We fit and commission

Your shutter is installed, tested and handed over with instructions and paperwork.
